For those wondering, According to the product description this unit does not support charging the newer Apple Watch models (Series 7/SE and above are not supported). Also the description states that it can cause air pods to overheat if placed off center on the charging pad.

Thanks for mentioning this! I've updated the deal details.

Also want to note, it doesn't explicitly state that it works for the Series 7, but customers say that it does charge if using a USB-C to USB adapter or older apply watch charging cord, so do with that what you may Smilie

This part of the product description is confusing and I think misleading. Not that it's misleading for you to point out this section of the product description – if it's true, that's absolutely important information – but because I think it's probably wrong. Newer Apple Watches should still charge, just at a slower rate than they're capable of (but at the same 5W rate that the older "supported" watch models do). It's just that the newer models are capable of charging at a faster rate if you use a charger with a USB-C connector, which this model doesn't have. I regularly charge my Series 7 on a slower charger, and one of the top reviews for this charger mentions using it for an Ultra 2, so I think it should be just fine. Still good to know that this model only supports 5W charging, but misleading to say that it's incompatible with the newer watches.

I just own the charger that was included with my S9 watch. So if I bought this anker unit I'd need to purchase a separate, older Apple Watch cable or an adapter as op mentioned in the previous comment. With either option I wouldn't get the advertised S9 Apple Watch charge times. So I don't think Ankers statements are misleading. I applaud Anker for being up front and it's one of the many reasons I like the brand.

Every wireless charger on the market makes AirPods weirdly hot if placed off center. It's why the new ones have MagSafe.

How does this stack up against this other Anker 3-in-1 charger?

Not sure I understand the issue with the Apple Watch charger since you have to supply the charger anyway. Unless you all are saying is that the port you connect the cable to is underpowered. So underpowered that it will not provide enough power to have the watch charge at the maximum speed it's capable of.

Is that the case?

That one you link is portable and better in every way. It also fast charges iPhones and watches that the cheap one here doesn't do. It also has an integrated watch charger while the cheap one requires you to supply your own watch puck.

These types of chargers are very common. They have a physical location to attach the official watch charging puck and a place to hide away the cable along with an internal USB-A port to plug that cable in so that you can have a single cable look from the outside. You can use a fast charging watch puck no problem but then you can't use the cable hiding features.
