B&H now has it for $1329, if you go through the :Apple: insider deals page. After I link it here the price changes back to $1399  so go look that up.

Wow amazing deal!!! Thank you so much for posting.

Apple back-to-school for this config, $1399 + tax - $150 gift card, is around $1350 and it doesn't happen for another 2.5 months. Benefit is with Apple Card, additional 3% back on the $1399 PLUS 12 month no interest payment, so say around $1300ish.

This B&H deal is $1329 flat (no tax with payboo). So you spend $29 extra to get 60 days additional use.

Alternatively, have BB price match Microcenter $1349 + tax , then use the BB credit card (10% back for first day of purchases), comes out about $10 cheaper than B&H.

Unfortunately Apple only price matches up to 10% so they'll never be able to match $1329, and even if they did, still more expensive after tax and everything.

Now the real question is: $850 (payboo no tax) for the base M2, or $899 ($970ish after tax) at Apple EDU wait for $150 back-to-school, so $820 for the Base M2. So you are paying for $500 additionally for the M3 16-512, which is almost enough for another M1 Macbook Air, or an Ipad Pro 11. Say $200 for added 8GB RAM and another $200 for added 256GB, you are still only looking at $1220 for the M2. So is $100 worth for the M3? Which gives same battery life, and 10-15% performance boost (benchmark only, and maybe save 30-seconds when exporting a 4k video)

IMO M2 16-256 is best value at $1079 Apple EDU wait for back-to-school $150 gift card. Since if 256GB is not enough space, 512 likely won't be either and you'd want 1TB anyway. And paying $200 for 256GB of storage is crimical. And is enough to support 2TB iCloud+ Storage for 2 years. So the $200 for 512GB is really the most worthless upgrade ever.

Apple pricing is so messed up and it's hard to decide best deal. But anyway this $1329 at B&H is best currently for M3 16 512.
