A good friend of mine and huge Mac guru purchased a similar deal a few months ago on a supposedly brand new Mac from Woot. When he received it he found it to have IBM software on it which stated it was owned by IBM and being tracked accordingly. He flushed the hard drive and reinstalled the Mac OS, but in a short time the IBM software was automatically loaded on the system again. Contacted Woot about it and they tried to justify the situation, but when he said he would contact the FTC since they sold a previously owned (by IBM) PC as new which was fraudulent they agreed to take it back and refunded his money. Buyer beware with Woot.
32gb vs 18gb RAM
1TB vs 512gb SSD
32 core vs 19 core GPU
16in vs 14in screen
22 vs 18 hour battery life

M1 Max deal doubles almost every spec in storage/RAM.

m3 is marginally better in single core tasks ~13%, WiFi 6e (if you have a WiFi 6e router)

M1 Max for me.
Got this in January for the same price with the same specs. I'm happy with my purchase

How does it compare to M3 Pro at B&H for $1699?

It's a great piece of a machine. For high workloads like video editing and trading it is an optimal one . I'm not sure if I buy a refurbished one .

Is this refurb? I was thinking it was for these specs at this price, but nothing says refurb anywhere.

I snagged the 64GB / 2TB 14" M1 Max from B&H Photo back in December for $2299, no regrets... but FWIW, the M1 Max is definitely way more thirsty battery wise than the base M1 Pro I had before it.

I miss the base 14" M1 Pro's literal 12+ hour battery life with real world use. M1 Max is more like 6-9, depending (smaller battery than the 16").

I bought the same M1 max 32GB/1 TB from Microcenter for $1899 last week. It's 3rd party refurbished but the battery only had 32 cycles. There's one small chip that I didn't discover until I got home. But overall I am satisfied with my purchase.
