Highly efficient window AC units that cool really well. $239 for the 8000 BTU, $279 for the 12000 BTU. The inverter technology allows for these to ramp down to 2000 BTU cooling making them very energy efficient. I have two of the 14000 BTU units that cool my 1200 sqft home in Florida.

It is built into the app but yes I do have an separate energy monitor plug. The 2000 BTU Is just what I read. The units average 300-600 watts set to 72 at low lately. Closer to 600-800w during the summer.

What's the electricity cost to run the 14K BTU units for 6 months in Florida?

Depends on efficiency of the unit and how long you need to run it for. Window units will do better then portable.

Bought the 8k for a small apartment I own, will be mounting it into a wall with the outside portion residing within an enclosed 3 season porch, hopefully it will last for 10+ years not exposed to the elements. I do wish they would make inverter units like these to also produce heat, would make installation a breeze compared to the mini-split options…

So you used an energy monitoring plug and determined it was using this? 🤔

My living room unit for the month of September was 150kWh, 137kWh for the bedroom unit. Live in central Florida 60s block house.

Yeah, the heating would have been nice. It does not get that cold in Florida and we do still have central air that I keep turned off. In a pinch could just use the central heat but space heaters tend to be enough for my small home.

Do you think a window unit that is south facing in direct sunlight is 2x more efficient than a portable that's in the room with dual hose?

Reason I ask is because I have a window unit and it doesn't run that well when it's extremely hot outside and I found a very good deal for a used dual hose.

*out of stock for me on the 12k unit*
