I like the $764 open box deal with 256GB better. Easy to buy external storage for a desktop machine to save $$$$$$

Great deal at $764 open box with touchID as they clear inventory with items that looks new (most of the time open box from best buy it's still looking pretty damn new).

Can you have multiple profiles/users on this bad boy? I'm not a Mac user; thinking of putting one in the family room but every user gotta have their own profile. 🤓

What about VESA mounting?

8gb is plenty on a Mac. For a PC you need at least 32gb these days.
It is until it's not. Once the 8gb are up and mac os creates virtual ram on the SSD shortening the lifespan of the machine. Why sacrifice longevity for few dollars. 16gb should be the bare minimum moving forward.

This narrative needs to end. 8gb might be fine for very light users, but most users will feel the computer slow down when multitasking. I have a 16gb Air. I don't consider myself a "pro user" and can't imagine going down to 8gb. The M1 chip is still great, but 8gb of RAM will eventually limit most people.

You will have swap, but the worst case scenario will be about 8 years of life. And you have to really stress it on a regular basis for a worst case scenario. Most users will upgrade by then.
