I had a pair fiskars loppers that the metal knife section kept breaking off cutting like 1" branches. After like the 6th pair I gave up and went back to my old unknown brand loppers. I have a small clippers with gears that constantly slip. Never had anything quality enough to use as intended that was fiskars brand…

I love the 15" Powergear. That thing cuts through thick limbs something so small has no right to. My only beef is eventually the blade got so beat up it needed replacing and they don't sell replacement blades for that model like they do for everything else.

I got the lopper and pruner combo from costco. I used the pruners on a few of our young trees and they didn't cut so well. Every few cuts the branch would roll over and not cut clean through resulting in the stringy bark piece to deal with. I've got the set out in the car for return. Can't speak to the loppers. If you're serious about getting quality, i'd get a pair of felcos or coronas; felcos being more top-tier.

I purchased the bundle at Costco for $20 and am pretty disappointed on the lopper. It's mostly plastic and the blades don't cross like a normal lopper (it has a single cutting edge + a weird plastic cutting surface the cutting edge meets.) I usually love Fiskars, (rebought the pruning too that had been recalled a couple years back) but that lopper feels and performs like a toy. If you need a small lopper I'd look elsewhere.
