I went with Greenworks 80v lineup. They have the 60 lineup now at Walmart; so there's the possibility that you can snag some clearance items in the future. I've used both an ego mower and a Greenworks mower. I prefer the Greenworks over the Ego 56v mower.
Not used Roybi.
I have a mower, chainsaw and blower from Greenworks now with 3 total 2 amp batteries. I do all the trim work on a half block property that has one house, pool and lots of flower and small tree & bush pieces bordering it with usually only needing 2 batteries. I like changing batteries because it gives me a break to get a drink or something.
I am using kobalt 40v since 10 years now. Touch wood.. no issues and never run out of battery!!
You could always return the extra battery, but you're not going to get any money back since you got it for free.
Do you know that from experience? When Ego was sold at Home Depot, they had a similar deal. I was able to return the batteries at a proportional discount. So I bought a $400 mower and got a free $100 battery. They considered it a $500 order with a 20% discount, so I was able to return the battery for $80, making the mower $320. (Some numbers estimated/rounded for simplicity)
Thanks op. Arrived home from a trip and my back yard was a jungle. The 7 year old greenworks couldn't keep up any more. This seems like a nice upgrade. Charging er up for the inaugural journey now.
