Model: Samsung WF45B6300A / WF45B6300AW (the W on the end stands for White)
Hi all, found this deal while shopping for a new washer. Samsung has the white color variant of this 4.5 cu. ft. front load smart washer listed for $699 (basically matching other retailers right now). With a few steps and the EDU/EPP program, you can get it
down to $487.75 if you have an old washer to trade in:
- Wait until past 8:30 PM ET / 5:30 PM PST, because a Samsung support agent told me the trade-in offer is only active after 5:30 PM [EDIT: You may not need to wait til after this time - people are saying they're able to see the trade-in offer at any time of day.]
- Follow the link and log in to samsung using your EDU/EPP account
- The price displayed on the page will change to $524.25 for the EDU/EPP discount.
- In the added services section, select the 2 Years of Samsung Care+ coverage for $1 making your new total $525.25
- Select NO professional installation
- There should be a box offering you a trade-in discount. From what I can tell, all brand options in this menu get you a $50 discount. If you do a trade in, the haul-away service is automatically selected for you which costs you $15, so the net discount for the trade-in is $35.
- The page may display a weird/unexpected total to you like it did to me, like $502.25 or something like that. Just add the item to cart and proceed to cart and it should finally show $487.25 for the machine, 2 years of Samsung Care+ coverage, and a trade-in that includes haul-away of your old machine. Taxes are extra and delivery is free.
I know samsung washers don't get
the best reviews but I happen to need a new washer right now and this is such a low price that even if it only lasts me 2-5 years, it's worth it, plus the 2 years of coverage make me worry a lot less. You can also attempt to make this a slicker deal with a referral code discount (haven't confirmed if one can be used with this offer).
QA Note: Trade-In Discount is active now

edit: added the $15 haul away, in cart removed it, went back to product page and now see the trade in haul away
edit 2: if I was in the market, I'd just pay the $25 to have it installed

And, sure, the installation fee is not bad but I'm confident I can do it myself and also Samsung says the installation may not be on the same day as the delivery. So, if anyone is in the market and even a little bit handy, self installation saves a few bucks and can potentially get you up and running faster than paying Samsung to have someone do it.
I have no idea if this stacking hardware is compatible with non-Samsung machines, and I have no idea if it is safe to stack machines without any stacking hardware. My gut says it's not safe!
Guess people are now just desperate for anything cheap?

This isn't true unless you willfully tried to mess it up and flood your home. One of the reasons we pay for insurance is to protect against our own negligence and stupidity.
My total with installation and no trade in is
$1,141.96(tax 70.97)
Edit- I bought both dryer and washer (electric)

I owned a couple Samsung's for years, and never had any issues. I did buy a new (Samsung) washer after they paid me for the "exploding washer" issues, but my sister-in-law used it for many years afterwards. In fact, they still run just as good as the day we got them, but when we bought our hour we had to get a front load set.
Having said that, as someone who has sold a lot of appliances in big and small markets, getting service to come out and work on Samsung appliances is hit or miss, and it's mostly miss. If the retailer is good, they'll get an RTV from Samsung and just replace it, but if they're not so good, it's a real hassle.
It's not a bad price, especially since it includes the warranty.
