You can turn off auto renew immediately after getting the free month
Not a super slick deal as it's still $31 on cdkeys. But not bad if you prefer target, after my 5% off came down to $37. Then Microsoft gave me a month free for turning on auto renew. Which I've already added to my calender on my phone to make sure I cancel.
just buy the non stackable codes for 5 bucks a month
that's the real slick deal

Is it still cheaper to buy Xbox Live Gold (12 months) and convert to Game Pass Ultimate? I mean for extending active GPU subscriptions, not the old trick of converting 3 years of live gold into GPU.

I bought 3 years of Xbox live and paid the $1 to roll existing subscription into Xbox game pass. Think it was $99 for 3 years on Black Friday sale. Worth checking into.

Yeah the only reason I could imagine doing this is if you had a bunch of gift card/circle credit saved up. But you could easily spend that one something else and buy gamepass with cash lol.

Xbox Live Gold is gone, Microsoft rebranded it to Game Pass Core.

The conversion / upgrade "trick" only works for expired subscriptions. You can still do it, but Microsoft changed the conversion ratio to 3:2 (for example 3 years GP Core into 2 years Ultimate).

Ah so if I have a current GPU sub I can't extend it with conversion of GPC codes? I used to extend GPU once a year to the max 3 year limit whenever there were good GPL discounts.

Isn't that cheap anymore. And like I replied to someone else, it's not Xbox Live Gold anymore.

I'm assuming you were using 3 months Xbox Live Gold (now GP Core) codes to extend your GPU sub by 50 days. That still works too, but the prices on the codes are much higher these days. I just checked Eneba and the codes are about $14 now.
