$8 for how many miles? It matters. If you can't afford a really good tip, I'm sorry, but you shouldn't be ordering through them.
No. Dashers with regular sedans and SUVs also get called over. But they have the option to cancel it, if they get there and the order won't fit in their car.

They don't tell us what the order is until we get to the store. And depending what area it is, it may have been a really slow day. We get like $2 base pay, so some of us will just really pick up almost anything we can that's reasonable.

I just did a shop at Loews yesterday and it was a 'shop & pay' which means I gotta go find it and pay for it at register. In those circumstances we are not supposed to give a receipt ever. However I had an order at Home Depot that was shopped for and ready for me once and in that case if any receipt is in or stapled to bag I leave it but that's usually just like a pickup receipt I think. Most dashers are dumb or don't know English though so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them leave the receipt regardless.
Yeah if they are churning accounts and getting referral bonuses depending on market they're getting an extra $5-6 per delivery for first couple hundred deliveries so I could see them taking it. To each his own I'm not taking it. I would be basically making $5-10 an hour when I can make $30 an hour waiting for better orders.
Sure bud … They would be losing money on that order with gas and maintenance. Their family would have to send him money if every order was like yours.
My favorite thing to do is order 4 or 5 cases of water from the grocery store through DoorDash
