Slight tangent to your search of a Seiko GMT, but check aliexpress for any watch that has a movement called NH34. It's the GMT movement made by Seiko that's sold to other brands. You'll be able to find GMT watches for much cheaper than Seiko's offerings and even be better equipped with a sapphire crystal

This was my first automatic watch. Now, $30k later, I'm admitting I have a problem 😂 this is a gateway watch to more expensive ones in the future lol. I highly encourage it. If you do not currently own an automatic, just buy this and get a $5 resizing tool and you're going to feel like a different man.

Pretty good deal for the times. The 7s is a pretty basic movement, but it's been in use for so long for good reason. It's no frills, but its durable and generally halfway accurate (or can be regulated to be accurate). Just know, these watches are the gateway to a much more expensive rabbit trail of automatics...

The Seiko 5 the best all around watch ever, factoring in quality, looks, functionality, and value for your dollar. I have a Seiko 5 Sports model and I also bought this exact model for my wife a few years ago.

Have had one for 25+ years and have always loved. However ever since being forced to use laptops I have stopped wearing a watch due to not being comfortable. Coincidentally that is when the Seiko badge dislodged and moves around and it has stopped the second hand from moving the way it can move around. That was after about 15 years of daily wear. I can't complain.

I bought two S5s from Jomashop, without really digging into how 38mm would look on my wrist. I had to return both, as they looked like women's watches. They looked tiny compared to my Omega Seamaster and daily beater automatic Invicta divers. Consider the size before you buy. I felt bad sending both back, but it is what it is

Received mine quickly. It's really nice and my first automatic. Fantastic for the price. It's not blue to my eye, but a black face with a slight shimmer that makes it greyish (maybe the slightest hint of blue). But, in every light I've tried so far, it's basically black.

Basically how I feel when I open up the box... Will reflect on this and remember that 38mm is deff not for me.

The only reason I didn't pull the trigger. 38mm would look like a women's watch on my wrist.
