Also the cp2.5 from what I hear doesn't provide that's much of a noticeable boost in terms of power in most tools except the right angle die grinder.

True, the deal is interesting because you don't see deals on these specific 2.5 capacity small formats very often. Usually it's on the boxy large cap packs, or handfuls of 1.5/2.0's that come with tools or starter kits. 2.5's are sorta hard to come by a deal on.

Legit or not, this isn't really a good deal compared to previous deals- and the batteries are great compartively to the smaller ones of course, and even the older 3.0.

Pretty sure you've never been able to get these batteries this cheap, standalone, without buying as part of a kit... so this is a pretty good deal if you're just looking for one or two of these 2.5s.

There was a recent HD YMMV deal for a 2 pack @ $50. It was pretty wide spread if I remember correctly.

YMMV is often not replicable for people, so it's not really fair to compare something that you MIGHT have been able to get previously (almost a year ago, apparently - and only if you travel to the store and they so happen to have it in stock & on clearance) vs something you can just order without issue.

Sure it's fair. You just don't think so, and that's fine too. It's still not a great deal given a $10/Ah formula, which is still attainable these days.
