"Several studies suggest that blue light-blocking glasses do not improve symptoms of digital eye strain. The American Academy of Ophthalmology does not recommend blue light-blocking glasses because of the lack of scientific evidence that blue light is damaging to the eyes. Purpose of these exactly
first, they filter out blue light so everything seems brighter. It also makes things more defined.
They have a slight magnification so everything looks bigger. This is a reason some of my friends wear them even for pharmacy work where you read a lot of small text.
Of course, you wouldn't wear them if color accuracy is important (like if you're editing photos). They're designed for computer work/gaming (where you're near the screen). I think they do have a line for console gamers (where the TV is far away).
I have a couple models and they're nice. I don't go out of my way to grab them before using the computer but if they're in front of me, I do put them on.
