I've replaced my scoop shovel handle with metal conduit, but given that this weighs 20% more than the Harbor Freight shovel (which has a hollow handle with a short plug of fiberglass in it), I think I'm in.

They're mostly known as "Smith and Wesson". =-)
Basically Tools marketed towards the Outdoors crowd rather than the DIY Crowd.
If you own a home you'll eventually end up owning these 3 shovels:
1 - The standard spade jack of all trade shovel with a pointed tip
2 - This flat shovel when you need to move dog poop, dead animals, dirt, gravel & snow
3 - A pole digger (two narrow trench shovels bolted together) for tree planting and fence post replacement.

You do you but in my opinion this is a homeowner shovel for occasional use not daily. Made in China. I only bought one made in China shovel 2005, I believe, because that was all I could find. The blade bent when I hit a rock. I donated it to a resale for charity group.
