Newegg Inc. via Walmart has Seasonic Connect SSR-750FA 750W 80+ Gold Power Supply w/ Backplane for $78.99. Shipping is free.

Thanks to Deal Hunter SehoneyDP for sharing this deal.

Note: The backplane is not designed for every chassis. Case modding skill may be required.

Features:
  • During installation only need to use two cables from the power supply to power the CONNECT. While the power supply itself supports the +12 V, -12 V and +5 Vsb rails, the CONNECT converts this power to provide the +3.3 V and +5 V outputs from the +12 V rail.
  • Unsurpassed silent performance in Fanless Mode. The fan control button at the back of the power supply allows users to customize cooling needs by selecting between Seasonic S2FC (fan control without Fanless Mode) and S3FC (fan control including Fanless Mode).

These power supplies were made for certain Seasonic cases, such as the Seasonic ARCH Q503 Mid-Tower Case. That case has an unusual layout that accomodates the power supply. I have one.

Getting it to work with other cases would be extremely difficult.
I didn't know that this was even a product.
Looks interesting.
I have this. Pretty good. I'm using it in a case made for it, but I think it would work fairly well in larger general cases. I've got a fractal design 7 XL that I think I could transplant it to, for example.

The "power extension" part has your PCIe and Sata plugs and so on , plus RGB headers and fan headers. It's pretty clever.

If you attached the power extension bit somewhere in the case with magnets it would be fine.

Generally the case they offered with this was very good too. Inverted motherboard layout. Very good airflow. Able to hold a 420 rad. Has a special fan placement that cools RAM (good if you like overclocking).

Honestly they did a lot of great stuff with this. Shame we are unlikely to see another iteration.

I bought a new case just for the powersupply (850W).

Considering the warrantee duration on SeaSonic.. I think the demand for these would likely be low. But $80 for a high quality psu is a good deal if your case could support it.

It wouldn't be pretty, but I'd imagine you could fit this in a lot of full size ATX cases. Though, looking at prices for other PSUs, this isn't really worth it *unless* you have one of those cases, as there are plenty of other normal PSUs around this price range from other solid brands.

That's a different case.
The case designed for this PSU is not inverted.

The PSU for the inverted case only works for that case.
This PSU could work with any case that has the room for the backpane.

Maybe there are multiple cases made for it my friend. I assure you this case is custom made for this PSU (sold paired) and it is inverted

Edit: apologies , perhaps I confused the PSU. Hadn't realized there are two similar Connect units if that is the case.

I also have a 7xl and wonder if this is good. I am planning to put 22 hdd. Do you think the 3 sata power can handle the spin up?

I've be speculating but honestly I don't see why not. It's a well rated PSU. Isn't there also a way to put a staggered start on the HDDs if need be? Think I did that with my HBA when running about 20 drives in my Fractal. I only had a standard 850W Corsair PSU in that machine. Not very different to this 750W unit.

I like the "busbar" that this PSU uses, it makes a lot of sense. I hope other manufacturers do something similar and make this a new standard for ATX cases.

The cable legth btw the psu and panel seem really short. I don't see this working out on most cases .

It isn't designed for most cases, luckily.

Frankly, I think it's a step backwards in terms of flexibility.

The bus bar essentially mandates that you have to occupy a fixed amount of room in the case.

This seems counterintuitive to just having a fully modular power supply where you can pick and choose what's needed from start to finish.
