Are all garden hoses made in China too? How can we trust that it's truly drinking water quality? I bought one that said it was drinking water quality and it turned out to be full of BPA. aluminum fittings are horrible. How can you leave that on your brass faucet without a huge problem?
Reply to below:' 'drinking water quality' is a marker of what kind of materials used. never want to use things made out of really toxic, polluting materials anyways, which many hoses are. but especially when you grow a lot of your food and fill kiddy pools, hot tubs, bathe kids and pets outside…

Who actually drinks out of the water hose? I just want one that isn't going to kink and blow apart at the fittings

Feel free to buy some super expensive water hose that is made in USA and pray for good "quality".

FWIW, I got the 50ft hose and it is well made from what I can tell. It's not terribly heavy and the connection secure well. It hasn't kinked thus far, but I haven't really tried to make it kink either. Hopefully it'll last a few years without springing any leaks.

I bought a 100ft garden hose from Home Depot when my wife and I got married back in 1995. It had a "LIFETIME WARRANTY." That original hose is long gone as are all of its replacements, but let's just say I haven't bought a garden hose since 1995. The Pro Tip here is: save your receipts and packaging fellas.

Free advice: pay a bit more and get a hose with brass (not aluminum) fittings.

Attaching aluminum to your brass spigot or nozzle will cause them to permanently fuse/corrode/galvanize together. Requiring a torch & wrenches to undo, best-case ruining your hose and worst case bursting your water pipe. Not worth it.

You are correct, and I speak from bitter experience. Since outlets/spigots are frequently made from brass it seems incredible that hoses with aluminum fittings are even legal, yet it seems to be a trend that is on the rise.

To my surprise I have found that plastic hose fittings are very durable, and they work well with both with brass spigots and aluminum hose fittings. So if you are stuck with a hose with aluminum fittings, consider using a plastic coupler as a middleman between the brass spigot and the hose.

Alternatively, as a free-but-risky solution, remember to completely remove your hose from the spigot every month or so to prevent that dreaded fusion.
