They have instructions, it's mostly ropes cause more damage to bark on the trees. This especially comes into play if people have semi-perm. or regular use the same trees (i.e. backyard). Also some parks have restrictions on using ropes. They sell sleeves or you can buy a strap kit on Amazon, but at that point you might as well buy one with straps.
This is perfect for the person who has a stand or is planning on installing hooks into their wall/post/tree
