My M1 (with 16GB Ram and 1TB SSD) hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. So I'm going to give it another year and see what the M4 brings. But this is a great price if you're in the market for one now.
Best Slickdeals deal I ever got. $1799 for the 16" Macbook Pro (2499 on Apple's website!) I even got the Space Black, unreal. Proof: https://ibb.co/6Wd4HFT
Big thanks to Microcenter in Indianapolis for keeping ONE of these Macbooks at this price for price matching! Ha!
Step by step what I did, hope someone else can get the same!
1. Microcenter link to send to BB rep: https://www.microcenter
EVEN THOUGH THIS LINK SAID OUT OF STOCK THEY STILL ACCEPTED IT FOR A PRICE MATCH
2. I went through 3 reps. The first rep said it couldn't do the because of "one per household". The second said she couldn't do it unless I picked up in Indianapolis. The third said the same with regard to Indianapolis, but they seemed like they were ready to go along with it (even in the color I wanted) so I just said I had a friend coming in to get in to get it and gave them a fake name. I did this because on BestBuy's website it says you can switch the order from pickup to shipped up to 30 minutes after it's placed. Except that wasn't true: the only option was to cancel the order :/
3. The kicker: I knew getting the price match on the OOS item was the hard part, so I just started another chat and explained that my friend can't pick it up. They had me cancel the order and created the SAME PRICE MATCH for my local store, pickup tomorrow, no problem with this rep whatsoever.
Hopefully someone else can replicate this!

When I checked with chat reps they mentioned if it's open $45 restocking fee. But I have never heard of restocking fee for laptops with BestBuy.
Not happy with 8GB but for $300 difference, guess might pick it up also.. Both initially put for pickup in IN and then changed.
Have 10 days to decide to pickup 13 or not.. But Im tired of chats..These BB reps are very patient. Im surprised
Price Matched and ordered last Monday (4/15) > rep had no issues with price match and sent it to my closest store > thought it would be immediate pick-up but it showed up as 4/23 > was nervous they would cancel my order > received my notification for pick-up tonight (4/22) > drove there immediately, showed my ID and barcode > no issues and setting it up now!
Thanks OP! Been waiting for buy my first MacBook, and now I have one.

It fits my need - mostly web and some basic excel work and no lag . Battery life has been excellent compared to a MacBook m1 14 pro I have and a lot lighter than the 14 inch pro. Easy to carry around and I am spending more time in this.

I tested with my wife's M2 8GB air and came to a conclusion that it is barely enough for my school work and programming. Although I wanted to get 15" M3 16GB but it was out of stock in Microcenter when I saw this deal. I don't wanna stick to this for years and have plan to upgrade for M5/M6 for 16gb in future if I get constantly out of 8GB ram. Usually the base model has better resale values in the used market that I have seen so far. I also have a gaming desktop with amd ryzen 5600x with 6700xt with which I have built a Hackintosh as well on my 2nd SSD. 8GB might not be enough for many people but right now for me I found it pretty useable if I don't open more than 15 tabs in Safari.
