If you enjoy making pasta at home, sure. Being totally honest, the average person will probably try it once and get frustrated. Anecdotally, I've occasionally hosted informal pasta making classes showing people what can be done with just a roller and it's about 1 in 5 people who tell me they regularly make fresh pasta as a result. Extruded pastas are generally more difficult to nail the dough, so I would imagine the number of people who will continue to use this is low.
Edit: To be clear, this is a great deal if you're in the market, but I wouldn't recommend buying it if you're expecting it to launch you into the world of fresh pasta making.
I agree, but I suppose that's where quality and warranty length come into play.

Good deal but I did a bunch of research a year or so ago because I wanted one and the common opinion seems to be that this is super slow and kinda frustrating to use.
I bought this and the roller version from Walmart which was posted here few days ago as well.
I don't eat pasta, but I am passionate about the noodles that East Asians love, udon. I bought a Philips pasta machine before. That one is troublesome to clean, and it's particularly weak. It broke after just a few uses. A plastic part connected to the transmission gear at the base of the metal stirring rod cracked. The most troublesome thing is that Philips does not sell this part. I don't like most of Philips' products. Taking this pasta machine as an example, the optional accessories all have interfaces of different sizes, without considering the parts that are most easily damaged.
This is totally worth it. I have this extruder and the roller, spaghetti/fettuccine extruder. These KitchenAid pasta makers are quality. I believe they are manufactured in Italy. What I love about the one being sold here is the bucatini pasta maker. For me, this is the best noodle of all time. It is a thick noodle with a hollow center to soak up the sauce. I make Cacio e Pepe all the time. In fact, I have a vacation home and I often pack the pasta maker when we travel. I am thinking of jumping on this deal. By the way, I paid full retail when I bought this originally. This is a good deal, IMHO.
this thing sucks. You continually need to adjust the dough to get the right hydration level and to get a cohesive pasta.
I used it multiple times, taking notes on weight to try and reduce the variability but nothing resulted in a predictable experience. It takes multiple hours to get enough pasta for a small group of people, most of those hours an exercise in anger management.
I would highly recommend against purchasing this. It is not worth it
Thank you. I own KA's grater attachment and it's trash.

$2 box of DeCecco pasgetti tastes way better than making pasta with this. i feel so ripped off.
Box came today was so excited to show the wife......missing. Only thing missing from the shipment was this and they cant send me one cause they were out of the ones from Walmart themselves 😭😭
