Don't waste your money on the Home Cheapo umbrella. Costco umbrella is much better and is sturdier than the cantilever umbrella. Go with the old adage, you get what you pay for. Costco umbrella is a much better choice.

Agreed. I would be surprised if that Home Depot umbrella lasted more than one season.
(And removing the fitment sleeve in the base to make the pole fit causes issues - ask me how I know)
Even the Costco reviews of that umbrella mention the fitment issue.
Like I said, just be mindful of the measurement
Just checked my base which is not a cheap HD model. You are correct. It will only accept a 1.5" diameter shaft. Disappointed to learn I have what is considered "garden variety" and cheap. Going to need to upgrade to stay ahead of the commoners. The shame.

For the record, I meant "garden variety" as "readily available at all box stores"
In the meantime, I just yelled at my fanning/shade servants for feeding me lukewarm grapes

1.9" (48mm) Diameter Powder-Coated Aluminum Pole Works with Any Standard Patio Table or Umbrella Base
Not true. Many of your garden variety bases are for 1.5" poles.
Example of an in-stock base at Home Depot that stops at 1.5":

Might put a hole in the liner, but sure, why not?
