Oh look, it's the mythical 5 thumbs up, no comments, Amazon affiliate deal.

Very, very tough to recommend an 8GB card today, especially one anywhere close to $400.
Don't do it.

16gb card is going to cost way more and the 16gb variants of the 4060 ti and 7600 xt are just not worth it and barely show any improvement over their 8gb variants. 12gb is questionable for longevity. Right now if I was buying I would rather buy cheap and upgrade sooner rather than invest more and get something that might not last long anyways.

So you're assuming AMD and Intel having nothing in this price segment to compete and offer more? The amount of memory and the bus width is anemic. This is a bad card from Nvidia and it's a bad buy for the price, period.

Intel can't compete at least until Battlemage comes out. AMD is in the same boat. You have to go up to $500 to get 16gb or buy a last gen card with fewer features, less lifespan potential for software driver updates etc.

The use of the card also matters. If you are looking for a card for AI/ML work, this is not a good card.

I sold my 3070 for $240, if this card come down to $240, I might buy it again.
