Why are you throwing it away? It can be re-upholstered.
The hardware alone is worth around $50. The material probably another $20. And then the labor/tools/design probably much more than that. Its free shipping on a large item. That probably costs $30-50 to ship alone.
These things are being sold at impossible prices, only because of economies of scale, and the people making them being paid slave level wages.
I am not saying its a quality couch. No one considering this should think as such. But, it is an incredible price. I own a few, for years now. No problems at all.
These cheap things are not made for people taller than maybe 5'7" or above 180lbs.

Chair is nice, slim, could have extra padding on the armrest but not bad. The upright position is not very upright, the mid position is awesome and it does recline almost flat. I would have paid $250 for it. Not too heavy to move around (I will be using it in stereo listening room, but normally will stay in a corner). Better than IKEA assembly experience. Disregard if you are above 250 pounds.
no one will notice when gramps has an accident
I saw another similar one on the showroom in a furniture store for $180 i think. They were being coy about selling it to me. It had slightly different arms. It may have been "last year's" production run of this style. Looked very similar.
Can't say how long this is going to last but its definitely for shorter people. I'd say around 5ft or for kids in middle-school and younger. And less than 200 pounds for regular use I'd recommend as well, which for a 5ft person I don't think is a big concern. I'm a much bigger dude and even though i fit, my feet hang completely off.
Pushing back is ok. Takes a little effort but reasonable. It has seems to have 3 stable states. All the way closed, feet extended, and backrest-horizontal. However the last one doesn't hold as stable as the others.
