I've been following this projector on many sites for a couple of months now. Usually sells on eBay for around $500 used…. I currently have 1 and it's great. 1080p resolution, but plays 4k files! If you want to use Ethernet, you need a usb to Ethernet adapter. Just Bought another to flip, and wanted to share a great deal with fellow SDers! Enjoy!

Any recommendation for max screen size for occasional outdoor kids movies? Was leaning for a 100" Elite Screen
Fixed focus lens, so the factor is where you can place the projector in relation to the screen. For reference I have mine mounted about 10.5' from my 120" screen and I need to move it forward 14-18 "

Brightness/picture quality is still OK at 120"? I'll just be using mine outside for movie nights so I can space it however I want. My question was moreso how does the EF12 look on greater than 100" screens

Looks good so far, certainly an improvement over the 10+ year old Epson spaceship it replaced. Much better black levels, probably due to better contrast with a laser source. Brightness is fine, but I am in a light controlled room.
Much quieter, and not warming up the room like my old projector.

Is it a good idea to get the protection plan for the EF11/EF12?

Hey , i bought both ef11 and ef12. It seems the lamp hours which i have mentioned is for ef11. Unfortunately i have returned the ef12 so not sure what menu option ef 12 has for lamp hours. You can try pressing the settings button on the remote and look for it . But not sure where its located in ef12
