I own both. They feel similar performance wise but the onn has a better remote plus 4k.
I love having one to bring on trips: usually you can plug them into your hotel room TV and then register them on the hotel's wifi network so that you aren't subject to whatever nonsense TV selection they have.
Fire stick used to be good, now it's terrible. Slow and filled with wayyy too many ads.

Not sure why this deal is marked as expired.
I just ordered one from Amazon.

Moreover, it's the same price ($19.99) for HD version on https://store.google.com/product/...v?hl=en-US
This is the same one at 1080. 4k is $49.99

Probably same exact guy who subscribes to the cheapest tier and gets 1080p streaming.

How easy is it to access the HDMI on a hotel TV though?
Buy one of these for when traveling: https://www.amazon.com/GE-4-Devic...D_BwE&th=1

I travel all the time, and there hasn't been a hotel TV I haven't been able to switch HDMI inputs with this remote. Cruise ship TV's as well.

Ah then you already know. I don't have Android so just Googled because a lot of times people don't just look for themselves. Is that app just for mobiles devices then?

Any reason to buy this over the Walmart Onn box (which supports 4K)?

No Dolby vision for the Onn box

Fire stick max is NOT fast. It's laggy. We have 2.

Nvidia Shield Pro is fast.
I disagree on the newest stick. It is pretty good, but I agree on the Shield.

Or this Google Chromecast w/ Google TV HD Streaming Media Player.

The 4k Google Chromecast has it, but I've had a lot of issues lately. Almost every other time I go to use it after the latest update the screen is black and I have to unplug it and plug it back in. I was also having intermittent black screen flashes on Stremio with Dolby Vision content.

Almost bought another Google 4k when they were $12.50 at Verizon, but waiting for something better. https://slickdeals.net/f/17066479-37-99-google-chromecast-w-google-tv-4k-streaming-media-player?p=167150092#post167150092

Would be great if the new ONN 4k had Dolby Vision, but I doubt it as the price would surely increase for the licensing.

I occasionally have issues with mine going out like low power or something, but I have apps on my TV. The thing I like the most is I can control it with my LG remote, so when I lose the remote, I'm not screwed. If the Roku did that I'd be mostly happy. Roku doesn't have Rumble.

This may be a basic question but do you have to re-login to apps like YouTube or Netflix or Amazon prime when you use the device out of your home network?

If you're taking about connecting the device to random WiFi like you'd get at a hotel, I am not sure. But I do know you would not have to re-login to apps if you use your own travel router or your own phone/tablet/hotspot for the device to connect to. I ran a Fire TV stick in my Odyssey when I had a minivan. I'd connect it to my phone or mobile hotspot's WiFi, so I'm it was connecting to a known network.
