This would be a smoking hot deal if only that 8 GB of RAM was upgradable but to me kind of kills the whole deal even though it's priced right. 8 GB of RAM just will make the whole experience of this much worse as you use it. Even the most basic users will exceed that with a few multitasking items open at same time with chrome.
AllState warranty. Anyone have good or bad experiences with them?
fantastic experience across multiple items.
they've repaired for me several times and it happens quick. i just sent in a drone about a week ago that malfunctioned that I bought 2 years ago and they are cutting me a check back because they can't fix it.
i will specifically look out for Allstate warranties in the future.
Just a heads up; Windows updates regularly break display drivers (typically showing over-saturated colors). MyAsus typically confirms this in the app and never gives an ETA on when fixes are implemented. I'm actually surprised this isn't mentioned more, since in some cases these are Pantone certified displays that are essentially useless after an update.
FYI, with AMD machines you only get 6GB of real RAM. 2GB is reserved for graphics.
It is an extremely painful to work on such restricted memory. I had to sell a Ryzen 5 laptop with 8GB memory that is otherwise perfect because I constantly ran into memory issues. I was not even doing anything heavy -- just a few browser pages and a video call window. The video would just crash and disappear. You don't want to spend your money on these machines.
Tbh most people will occasionally experience the limitation of 8GB when opening 10+ chrome tabs, zoom, office apps at the same time.
This guy speaking the truth. People who have seen the "Your computer is low on memory" warning popping up and finding application randomly crash know what this is talking about.

Exactly . With the no expandable ram option this is worth only as a media device . this deal is just a waste of money.

They also get really noisy under normal load.

Who cares? I do.
Enough with this type of drivel. This is a community-oriented site and feedback is what makes it great.
Can the stupidity of the "don't like it then leave" idiocy masked as arguments.
RAM is critical.
Yes!
Anyone here tried this conversion on this machine?
I'm trying to decide if its worth it to get something like this, or an Galaxy tab S8 ultra with 8GB/128gb for a little bit more.
Have had two phones replaced over the yrs, no issues
