I loved the prequel to this, and this one started off great - just like the first game, but with better graphics, more abilities, and a bigger map. But halfway through it became a slog. At least, I assume halfway, because I got bored and never bothered to finished.
Games are getting too long. I understand why. Because when you pay $60 to $70 for a new title, you want to get your money's worth. But when they're throwing in a bunch of filler to pad the gameplay it stops being fun.
If they could tell the full story in 12-15 hours instead of 25-30, it would be a much more taught, cohesive, and enjoyable experience IMO.

Welcome to getting older. I used to want a 40 plus hour game... Now, I would take a 10-12 and not complain. I do not want filler. Just enjoy the ride. There are WAAAAY better things to do in the real world than game for 60 hours. But when the time is right, I want to game. What happens is I cant remember where I left off or have the desire to drage through it. I have the first and have not beat it... I was going to put this in the back log, but naw... not after your review. I still like playing the original 3..

There's a difference though between open world grinds like a typical Ubisoft game and GoW. Everything flows as one story here and it's been an amazing ride. The deep dives into Norse mythology lose me a bit but everything else has been impeccable. Yea it's long and I totally get that that may be a turnoff but this is an AAA title.

Has half the description wrong, for the wrong game and system.
I forced myself to finish FF7 rebirth and it was incredible, don't get me wrong, but SO MUCH PADDING! It's a 40 hour story with 130+ hours of content and mini games. And the content actually fleshes out several of the characters and you get battle bonuses, so you want to do it.
Next time, I'm just going to finish the story and watch YouTube for anything I missed. I'll likely never get another platinum trophy again.

Yeah, don't do it. The first was 1000x times better than this one. I loved the first and was counting the days before this one came out, and just like the other reviewer, I might have gotten halfway through and I stopped playing it. I played AC Valhalla instead and thought it was way better. This wasn't worth the time and just became tedious and monotonous.
