You don't. These are meant to be put into the toilet bowl. Much more effective than using that poopouri stuff

I've used them both. Just pack them in there good. Don't leave huge gaps. Kind of puzzle piece them in.
This is what I used for my gravity, always forget to put the slides back in and ruin an entire hopper.
