psa: switch version is bad. has very long load times. i counted 40 seconds when just loading the stage select screen and another 40 when loading the stage. just absurd for a game like this. fps also drops during gameplay.
Decent game, but very short ~2 hours

I feel like compared to any other year there is an overall big inflation with games. The sensitivity for price dropping is slower than usual, and the lowest price is removed. I think with the emulation removed thanks to u know who, the feeling is empowerment to jack price up. For two hours, personally it's a $20 value and I would pay $9.99 at most. A movie ticket.

Game is fun, hideous in-game art style but still cool nonetheless.
Weird system in that you gotta cash out after each playthrough which resets all stage progress in order to get upgrades, but you do keep the upgrades or unlocks as far as I understand.
High reply value if you try and get all the playable characters. I've put 18 hours into it. Beat it twice. Invited friends to play. Beat it on more difficult settings with new characters. Lots of fun.

anyone know if the PS4 version has a free upgrade?
The case image shows the upgrade message, but it's got like the caveat symbol and they didn't show the games back cover, so not sure. From what I saw on one Reddit post, the upgrade is included.

Wow, that's pretty ridiculous, especially considering what the Switch can run without much issues. It's not like this is Tears of the Kingdom level of graphics here...

Figures that I just bought the PS5 digital version for $15 last week.
It's a fun beat 'em up with fun characters and abilities. Not as good as Double Dragon Advance, but it's a solid game in the series. I would pick Streets of Rage 4 over this any day though.
