BTW, I doubt this shelf could support a kids backpack with books. This is one of those items that looks good to a parent but will never be used by the student. The shelf completely bogarts the locker's storage space. The door organizer, mirror, white board, magnets are all equally as silly plus take up room. Yeah if you had 30 minutes (22 with commercials) between classes it might be great but this isn't Saved By The Bell where your kid will have time to run for student body president, prank Mr. belding, put on makeup, and change all their books in the 6 minutes between classes....not counting the 1/2 mile of walking between classrooms. And like dude said above, no room for a plate carrier!
