About this Game:
A deadly virus is spreading across Los Angeles, turning its inhabitants into zombies. Bitten, infected, but more than just immune, uncover the truth behind the outbreak and discover who - or what - you are. Survive, evolve and become the ultimate Zombie Slayer.
Dead island 2, likes its predecessor, has campaign co-op, so get off your "nO oNe LiKeS SiNgLePlAyEr" soapbox.
Only crazy because Epic offers a ton of cash to developers in exchange for removing or not offering availability to competition, and many take the cash. I know the idea is to hurt Steam, but it really hurts all of the other storefronts.
I thought this was a fun and solid entry in the series. I'll likely bite on a GOTY edition down the line to get all the dlc for cheap when everything has been released.
Nope. Was epic games store exclusive for first year

From steam reviews it looks like Epic is still getting a taste. Buying on steam still requires the epic launcher and there appears to be some issues with the steam version not launching without some epic games store related tweaking. Looks like a mess

It doesn't affect launching the game…. I haven't had troubles with EGS with this game.
Eh, I'd wait. Reading through the reviews it looks like they have some pretty big stuff to fix on the Steam version, and waiting can only get it at a lower price.
I wouldn't pay 20 bucks for this game. The game itself is ok. But the movement and fighting mechanics felt a bit dated and boxy. A friend of mine described it as the Call of Duty of 1st person zombie games and I thought it fit. Dying Light from 2015 has a much better feel and experience and honestly a lot is very similar aspects. similar weapon upgrades, crafting, even some enemies though i think dead island has more guns then dying light and definitely has more zombie variety which makes sense given dying lights age. (also dying light 1 is $6.29 on cdkeys) obviously Dead island will look better visually and is a decent game overall. Its a game that's definitely worth $5, prob $10, maybe $15 but not more then $20. Unless if you really like first person zombie games. Also to note if your playing co-op buy it at the same time and play together as soon as you can. if you get to far ahead of your friend in the story, they cant join you... So don't play without that one friend who doesn't care about the game or the story and just want a to play together lol (that was me on Xbox after the 1st time i played)

Supposedly, it flopped at launch.
I thought the first one was okay too. I didn't get much replay value after playing with my buddies. We moved onto other games.
Personally, I'm going to hold off till there's a good price on a gold or definitive edition.
