They used to be 18.6 oz. I have no history on the salt %.
Basically, everything "used to be" larger, but my point was that these cans aren't small. In this case, there's less sodium, so it helps that they're smaller. It's still a ridiculous amount, though!

How clever! Yes, indeed, soup is "salty"....but the level of salt doesn't need to be so over the top! It's done to mask the fact that these crappy, canned soups have basically no flavor (so the salt distracts from.that)....and the salt also serves as a preservative. A win-win for Campbell's. A lose-lose for the consumer.

Sounds like you might be a little "salty" about this deal.
Mine showed up today, a little beat up. the box looked like it fell off the truck, lol. Regarding the salt content, drink some water after your soup. You need salt and my blood pressure is 120/80
