I usually buy several of these and then keep the one in the best condition and best battery life. Has worked out well. Usually about 1 in 3 are in great condition.
Yes, my sister got screwed over by an Amazon third-party refurb iPhone. The battery stopped charging after a couple months and the Apple Store wouldn't work on it because it didn't have a valid serial or something like that. Amazon support was useless. I think she got some credit back eventually, but not a full refund, and she bought one somewhere else. I'd stay away.
A common issue with 13s are the dust getting into 3x lens. Switch to 3x lens and see if there are any black spots seem. I returned 3 amazon renewed 13s simply because this defects. It is a common issue for 13s and the only fix is to replace the whole camera module.

Will I regret getting the 128 vs the 256? People say 128 is enough but then you can only record video at 1080p/30fps with the 128. That seems significant.
You need 256gb min if you plan on using the phone for everything, especially vlogging.

Refurbs that aren't issued by Apple have to be a total minefield right
.Not necessarily do research. I got a 1TB iPhone 13 pro max in excellent shape, no scratches, that was listed for $ 739.99 but received a 148.00 eBay discount. So for 650.73 with tax. On top of that, it came with a year warranty backed up by eBay insurance through Allstate. The only thing I had to give up was the color. I had to pick a color I usually wouldn't because I wanted one immediately. I also got 12 months -Of interest through PayPal. I usually put my phones in an outer box case anyway, so the color was something I was willing to give up for the 1 TB of storage

Does this one have USBC? I am getting older and am thinking it's time to go to something easy like an Iphone these days but don't want to invest into lightning cable items. Everything I have now is usbc.

You still need high quality usbc cables.

These pro max models are HEAVY. If you're looking for the bigger screen without the added heft, consider the plus model which started with the 14 and up.

I believe the the 13 pro max is one of the heaviest phones from Apple. 240g which is half a pound in American currency.

This is a pretty good deal, I'm not hyped about it being renewed meaning it'll have foreign parts which means everything won't work right. I'd much rather just buy used

Apple iPhone 14, 128GB - Unlocked (Renewed Premium) = $550
Renewed Premium = battery 90%+ and full 1 year return/replace/refund
(excellent = 80%+ battery and 90 day window)

Sold and shipped by Amazon

Just an FYI for those not in the know 80% battery health is the threshold where the phone starts giving a battery warning and reduces performance. IMO any iPhone with less then 85% battery health needs a replacement battery. I would not buy these "excellent" phones.

My iPhone 12PM broke so I'm looking for a phone that will tie me over until the 16 comes out.

Assuming that Apple would accept this as a trade in at that time (might be a big if), that it's in good physical condition, and that trade in value goes down when a new phone comes out, would the potential trade in value be around $370? That's what Apple is offering for the 12 Pro Max right now

That's the best case scenario. $120 (plus tax) for a rental doesn't seem that bad. Talk me out of this

Thanks for the heads up op, I appreciate you calling my attention to this deal, I opted to upgrade to renewed premium because it was only a few bucks, someone posted better to buy sold by Amazon and shipped by Amazon and for my past experience I agree. I check ed cosmetics and battery health out of the box and if the phone doesn't cut it, returns are simple.

Yup. You're going to spend $500+ and then need to take the phone in for a new $100 battery in 2-3 months. But people rather spend more money on an older model with an old battery and complain about it cause that's super slick for them lol
