Skipping version numbers and then all of a sudden going with "Gen5" is super confusing to the average consumer. I am pretty up-to-date with Dyson products - I have owned 6 purifiers, 5 vacuums, and 1 hair dryer - and even I get confused from time to time.The naming scheme of their newest line of air purifiers - which was released in 2023 - is just as bad. For their Big + Quiet line:
- No BP01
- BP02 is only for certain regions (not in the US)
- BP03 (made for consumers)
- BP04 (made for consumers, better than BP03)
- No BP05
- BP06 (made for businesses; very different without remote control, app, shorter filter life)
Sorry about the rant, but this is on the same levels of horrible naming as USB-C [arstechnica.com]... lol.Take care,
