The Amazon listing actually suggests these might be the California Special model, but I wonder if that's a typo or bad info in the listing. If it's the CS model, it's a decent deal for sure. See below for more details.
Where? CCC says the other Amazon listing has always been $749, Guitar Center has it for $749
The Newporter Player is regularly $450 and has shown up on Slickdeals for $225 in the past but the Special has no hits other than this one.
The main differences is the Player does not have solid back and sides like the Special, has completely different wood and less-fancy electronics (the Special has a body sensor, blend control and Fishman Flex Body system)

So not some 3rd party scammer.

Typically, the title of the item will indicate that it's a special. In this case, it says "Fender 6 String Acoustic Guitar, Right-Hand, Natural (0970843122)". I suppose that model number is right, but the more typical thing would be something like "Fender Newporter California Special 6-string Acoustic Guitar, Right-Hand, Natural", without making anyone go spelunking into the description that might be copied from another listing.
Again, that's not accusing anyone of being a scammer, but it does suggest that this listing might have errors in it or be for a different product. I've seen this before with Amazon.
It's interesting that this is a "limited time deal" (per the graphic on the page), but with 0% claimed as of right now. I suspect I'm not the only one wondering what guitar you'd receive if you order it.
They can't sell the three they have! Jokers.
