If I'm not mistaken, Columbo was not a true TV show. It was part of a movie of the week series. There 3 or 4 movies that rotated each week, resulting in a smaller amount of episodes each season.

Surprised that a 1971 procedural was upgraded to HD, and that they only did 43 episodes in 7 seasons, back when limited seasons weren't common.

It's actually in 4K on Peacock. Mind you it's streaming 4K, not at the level of discs.
