If I'm not mistaken, Columbo was not a true TV show. It was part of a movie of the week series. There 3 or 4 movies that rotated each week, resulting in a smaller amount of episodes each season.

There were Columbo movies after the original series. IMDB shows 10 seasons and they call it a series. As I recall, there were movies after the series. The movies were not as good. I saw Peter Falk interviewed when they did (I think) the last of the movies and he said the author did a really good job of writing for the movie and I thought the writing was terrible. The TV series is really good.

Columbo is absolutely classic, and Peter Falk is perfect in the role. Although there are some lesser episodes, they are all still enjoyable. The later ABC episodes are campier and a step down, so this is peak Columbo. This was also just recently added to Vudu/fandango, so you might find a better sale price later- there's nothing to compare to. IMO it's definitely worth $25 for digital.

The quality is excellent, but it is a notch lower than the Kino Lorber physical set just released if you A/B it. If you're a fan of physical media it's a definitely a worthwhile purchase, but you won't be unhappy here if digital is your jam. The physical set can be found closer to $~80

I have been waiting for this. I could have bought the DVDs, but they were quite a few dollars more. I have all of these stored on my DVR. They obviously take up a ton of room. I'll check and see which ones are missing. Okay have taken a look. It is missing the original movie prescription murder. That was the very first pilot. It is also missing the movie ransom for a dead man. When you read about columbo the first 3 of them are confusing and are misnumbered.

They are Ransom for a dead man, murder by the book which was directed by Spielberg and prescription murder. And then number 2 starts with death lends a Hand. only Murder By the book is included here. also this seems to end at season 7. There are four shows in season 8, 6 shows in season 9 and 14 shows in season 10 so there are a lot of shows missing.

I have had this problem with VUDU before, also Prime . They only seem to buy certain seasons and sometimes the missing season is in the middle so you'll be like missing season 4 and then they'll have season 5 of something it's sort of strange.

For this particular situation they're selling the original run of episodes. Just as kino lorber has broken down their sets by original run and then a 2nd set coming up for the return episodes.

The main things not here that probably should be are the 2 pilots. The first pilot is Prescription Murder and the 2nd being Ransom for a Dead Man. They do seem to get treated as standalones when it comes to streaming.

This set is the original run beginning with the first true episode, Murder by the Book and ending with the last of the NBC 70s run, The Conspirators.
