Damn, this is tempting. Almost jumped on the HD grinder deal w/ free battery but it's not as good as this it seems.

$250 is a bargain for a bicycle that normally costs several thousand dollars.

These can't compare to their 60v grinders. They're ok for light duty when you need to cut off a rebar or a bolt here and there, but any kind of medium duty prolonged work and you need to bring out their 60v line up.

Edit: But this does seem like a good price. A good charger and a big battery, although it's not flex volt so unusable in their 60v tools.

The HD one isn't the power detect version with the paddle trigger, but it is $199 with a 5ah powerstack battery. I have plenty of bags and chargers so it may be worth it to me to get it over the amazon deal.

How does it compare power detect or no?

That's exactly what I was going to say. The 20V grinder is ok for real light duty work, think sanding with a flapper wheel, but just doesn't have the power for heavy grinding or cutting. Back in the day before the 60V was released it was nice for quick grinding or cutting where we had no electricity (5.0 A.H. Bat would only last us about 5mins) but any heavy work we would have to use the corded Metabos and extension cords. The 60V grinder changed all that, I very rarely use my Metabo corded grinder anymore unless we have a ton of bench work. I use the 60V for almost all my field work now, its almost as powerful as the Metabo and with a 9.0 Ah battery it has decent run time.

Long story short, I highly recommend stepping up to the 60V grinder if you plan on using a grinder a lot. If not, and you really only plan on using this for occasional light duty work, the 20V will be fine and this deal with the 8.0 ah battery seems pretty good.
