Anything but HP. Seriously, I'd take an off-brand long before HP.
Dell, Lenovo, etc. might have their issues, but I've had the absolute worst luck with HP over the years.
O how so ? I just got my first HP on a refurb deal here last week. The Ryzen 5 5600G.
It's working pretty well, So far I upgraded the ram to 16gb added another 1tb ssd and a 1660 Super. I was also able to upgrade the PSU to a 400W. Parts for these are redally available.
I'm still under the price of this deal, but I had all those parts just laying around from other upgrades over the years. The PSU was around $60.
I agree though the 3050 wouldn't be my first choice for this PC at $600
$65 for a 3600 (used)
$80 for a B550 board
$30 for 16GB RAM
$60 for 1TB SSD
$40 for case
$50 for PSU
$325 for a basic AMD build...
This box here is about parts cost. So I guess that makes it a good deal. Yeah the main problem is the poor value of the 3050. Drop in an Arc A580 to my above AMD build can you get something much faster for about a hundred bucks less.

60$ for a 400 watt psu? you got scammed tbh, you can get like 700 watts for that price, or 850 watts for 70$

evidently you haven't shopped for a propitiatory HP power supply lately.
it doesn't have a 24 pin cable or any SATA connections it's made specifically for HP Desktops

I see what you mean, but cmon, the 12400 in this stomps the ever-living snot out of the 3600... The RTX 3050 is about as powerful as a 1660 Super, but you get access to DLSS and newer drivers. Should be able to get 60fps on most games, with settings tweaks... Could probably through an RX 6600 in there for a massive performance boost. Similar TDPs.
This PC is not for people that can, or want to, build their own pcs.
PS: At least it isn't the NEW RTX 3050 with 6gb that only needs slot power. 💀

The i5-12400 is great budget CPU even though it's over two years old at this point. The 3050 just isn't a powerful enough video card in my opinion.
