It's true. It's soldered onto the motherboard - it really is a shame because the X16 is pretty slick outside of this. With this in mind to keep this future proof I feel like you'd have to go with a 32GB model and of course those aren't the ones on super sale.

LPDDR5 6000MT/s. Chips on the board, not on modules. But they're really fast. You'd probably need to see if they can do a CTO/BTO for 32gb. In the link, there are two "motherboard" choices:
  1. i7 + 16gb + 4070
  2. i9 + 32gb + 4080
choosing any of the options for motherboard 1 or 2 changes all 3 motherboard-linked options.

Soldered RAM on this laptop for the original listing price is CRAZY. A bit more palatable at this sale price but still not preferable.
