I think it's more about future proofing (at least for me). People are buying a computer to last 5 to 7 years. Things are only getting more demanding.

16gb was pretty standard even 5 years ago. If you wasn't using it then and you're not now, why would you be in the future?

A 4070 is not super high end lol. It's barely ahead of the 4060 and it only needs 105w for full performance.

Consider the cost. If 32GB of ram would be $50 more, but the 4070 is $200 more, it's kinda silly and unbalanced to put the relatively expensive gpu upgrade while avoiding the cheap and easy ram upgrade.

If I were playing a game, would I benefit more from 16GB extra RAM or a 4070 GPU? I'm not a gamer, but I would guess I could run the game just fine in 16GB RAM and that the 4070 would give me a better experience.

I'd recommend checking this out at a local store to make sure you can live with the screen. They had it at microcenter (also best buy near me didnt have this but had m16 which uses the same panel). Looks significantly worse than the acer and asus models it competes with.
