I love Osprey, but $54 is still pretty high on a 18L. I think the Hikelite 18L at $40 was a better deal. I guess it just depends on how much you value the water bladder versus the cool frame on the Hikelite.

I find it super annoying they used that terminology. I was assuming it may have had some fancy hydraulic frame suspension system.

I need a new hydration pack, is osprey preferable to camelbak for hiking? Considering this: https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/17399523
(coming from a camelback that had the bladder low on the hips so it didn't put much weight higher in your back, loved the volt)

For just carrying water and a snack, I prefer my insulated Camelbak. Puts the water right against the back and I throw some ice cubes in before I head out if it's warm out.
Day bags with a reservoir hold more gear, but the are not as slim feeling as just a 2 or 3L Camelbak.
Different purposes. Usually my wife carries one and I carry the other.
