I've been eyeing this kit for awhile now and the finially came down in price. This is a very good set, better than the Klein version of it.

for $5 more, Home Depot includes an 1/2" conduit bender:

For only occasional use, paying this much for glow rods when you can get a similar set on Amazon for like 30 dollars just isn't worth it. If you're a professional and use them daily, then maybe these start to make sense. Still seem too expensive for what they are...
Do you like Fish Sticks?
No, use a steel fish tape… I have both steel and fiberglass, fiberglass is great for conduit, horrible for walls with insulation. Just keep the metal tape angled so it's riding on the Sheetrock and you'll be fine.
Ran CAT6 to every room in my house when I moved in, steel tape was far better.

I'm very curious what a conduit bender could do for your gardening needs.
They're called "ghetto gardens", built with EMT 😉

Looking to run ethernet cable from router on 2nd floor to 1st floor. Would this work or can I get away with steel fish tape? Walls have insulation between them and I don't have attic access.

You are kidding, get $15 tape or $10 HF sticks. This set is for a pro electrician to do EMT conduit. Tape does wonders for insulated walls if you have openings on both sides

I'm not sure of your construction knowledge but if you are expecting to enter a wall on the second floor of a residential home and go down inside the wall to the 1st floor you are going to hit several obstacles aside from the insulation. At the bottom of the wall is a sill plate, usually 2x4 that is what the studs are attached to. Additionally, the walls will have a fire stop in the middle which is usually a 2x4 horizontally connecting stud to stud to stop fire from travelling quickly through the wall. The best way to deal with this in a wood stud home is to use a flexible drill bit. They come in different sizes but basically it has a 3/8" or whatever size bit at the end mounted to a long 1/8" flexible rod (up to 6 ft) that you attach to your drill. Cut your hole in the wall slip the bit down the hole until it hits the sill plate and dril through it. The drill bit usually has a hole drilled in the end so you can use it to pull a string back through the path. This will get you through the fire stops and sill plate. There is a tool that you can buy that allows you to bend the bit rod to guide it as it goes into the wall while allowing it to spin. You may or may not need that. I have gotten away with leather gloves to guide it when I did not have the tool.
HF $9 fiberglass pole set is amazing for the price. I make a wire hanger loop bent into a gradual 90 that I tape on the end that allows me to walk the pole left and right by rotating the pole. I have run 60+ foot runs around corners in offices on drop ceilings with out dropping tiles just by walking it and using the loop to jump the obstacles. They are thin, light and flexible. Not too useable for what you are doing.
Inside insulated walls with or without craft paper I prefer a flat metal tape run against the drywall. It is very easy to keep them against the drywall and direct them left and right as the tape will not bend in that direction. They are the fish that is most likely to get stuck in a wall. It is very easy to jam them in between a metal stud and drywall or for them to get caught at a metal junction.
Wireless is always an option...

What colklink77 said, you can get fiberglass rod set for way cheaper. I have a $20 set I bought off Amazon and have ran 10 POE security cameras and about 5 other network drops with it and it still works like new! Think about how many fiberglass rods come with a $30 Walmart dome tent than ask yourself if this Milwaukee set is really worth the price!

Spendy. I use my $20 kit often, and would just buy more of those if I needed more length.

If you are planning on buying the Milwaukee rod set for $169, hold out your left hand palm out and smack yourself then buy this set for $11.69 !

I ran romex through 3 floors with the $20 sticks from harbor freight and only broke one of the 10. I don't buy many cheap tools but this set is for someone who does electrical professionally or VERY often.

I ran 10 security camera feeds Cat5E. and several other network runs throughout my house and every wall in my house is insulated ( regular fiberglass insulation for sound I guess) and my $20 set from Amazon is still like new Stick Out Tongue No need for an expensive set for anything IMO!

Wow! Milwaukee is crazy. I wired my entire house with the same thing from Amazon for $20. That company is out of control.

In all honesty… I'd take a little shock (yeah, I've been hit by 120 many times, ain't that bad) to find out there's a live wire in my wall. Much better than a mouse igniting itself when I'm not home and burning my house down…

This has to be the absolute dumbest defense I have ever seen.

You were told by a pro why fiberglass is a better choice, yet you feel the need to come back with a ridiculous statement.

Just so you know for the future, it is not the volts that kill you, it is amps, or current flow, So your "I've been hit by 120 many times" means nothing as it is only the potential difference.

It only takes milliamps to stop a heart, I think 100, so if you think you can survive 15 amps before a breaker blows, good luck.

If the mouse causes a short, the breaker will pop, that is what they are there for.
