My favorite guitar color of all time. I have a 1957 strat reissue, a Tom Delonge Starcaster, and a Mark Hoppus jazz bass all in Surf Green. Growing up with Blink 182 was a good time.
Thoughts on this guy vs the PRS SE ? I'm a bass player wanting to dabble in guitar. Thanks!
The Silver Sky SE? That's a Strat style and is made in Indonesia I believe. This Telecaster is made in Mexico if that matters to you. I think both instruments are well regarded. PRS have the cool bird inlays and the 3+3 tuner configuration that doesn't need string trees. And it has 3 pickups and a tremolo system like a Strat. The Tele is simpler with 2 pickups and no tremolo system. It's hard to say one is "better" than the other though. You could pick either one and not regret it (or both!)
Slight nod to this Tele for being simpler and marginally cheaper maybe? Oh and this Tele has the cool string-through-body setup. Hard to go wrong.

Thanks! I do like the bird inlays. Didn't know about the string trees. You're right about this one being simpler. Thanks. And I love your user name. I needed to hear that 😄

I'd personally choose based on the sound you want. The PRS sound like a Strat, and the Tele presumably has a little more of that traditional twang (hard to say exactly, though. Pickups vary by model).
The addition of a whammy bar and an extra pickup might sway you one way or the other. I personally hate the bird inlays in the SE. They look great in abalone, but the white ones look like cheap plastic.
If you're looking at PRS, their Santana model is pretty too.

lol I guess the inlays are pretty subjective. I'll check out the Santana model. Thanks.
Player series sounds pretty good and like traditional teles. Easy to mod too with better pickups. But I suppose the same can be said for prs. This one should have a satin neck. Prs is likely shiny. I'd go with the tele. It will stay in tune better and cause less headaches. It's like the guitars guitar. Super simple. Super versitile.
adorama has the lake placid blue for 30 more. and u can get the aerodyne Japanese made for 650. I bought that recently and it's way more guitar than the player series. different look. kinda gives a sexier feel to the plain block of wood that a Tele is.

This link for telecaster in Lake Placid Blue at Adorama seems to still work for $529, although it shows on Adorama's website shows $624 if you go directly to Adorama's website.

I have a strat, a tele, and a gretsch electromatic and the tele is my favorite.
