I wonder if that $150 discount yesterday was a price mistake or it was just a promo from Costco. It looks to be more of a mistake because I still see the "Spend $999; Save $150" promo for jewelry items.

It absolutely was a mistake, as the promo is running through 5/8. I am glad I jumped instead of waiting for it to apply to a buffalo/eagle. Can't beat buying gold $110 below spot BEFORE executive and credit card cash back.

Same as yesterday
Not same as yesterday, today it doesn't have the $150 off jewelry over $999 promo applied.

I really think it was a glitch. They can't give 6% on top of the 4% cash back if you are an executive member. After all, if you live in a state with ambiguous tax code, never buy from Costco. They will charge you the tax when all other gold platforms don't, you end up paying 4% more. Never again.

The fact todays offering doesn't have the deal means it 100% was a glitch IMO.

Got it at 8:30 AM PDT for $2,380 and OOS. It's better than the $2,470 for AGE on 4/19 and $2,450 for the PAMP bar on 4/17. I pay no sales tax by shipping to daughter in CA or parents in WA.

It is still a great deal for 2024 compared to random dates from eBay (even with the CaptialOne shopping 3% CB offer I received and used last Fr plus 2% CC CB).

How do you convert the gold coin back into cash? Sell it back to Jewelers?

Few options:

1. Sell to local coin shop (LCS) for cash/check, usually for spot or - $20 for AGE to - $40 for Maple. Or try big CS like Apmex.
2. eBay though need to pay selling fee
3. Private party which I've done through local CL by meeting at LCS or bank lobby

To me, gold is store of value while the USD is devalued and crazy government spending/money printing, e.g, $95 bil for Ukraine and Israel. And gold price is not going up but rather USD is/has depreciated as it was mere $20/oz when Nixon took the USD off the gold standard.

These kind of deals come along once in 10 years. I remember an EBay deal of 25% off that worked on certain PMs. That was like 8 years ago.
