through the Arizona University Book Store but never the less.
but.... MicroCenter -> BB price match game for $1070 was best ever for the same spec. I am not saying I have a time machine, just giving relative comparison.
Im surprised by the sale.. Something is missing here.. Macbooks are not selling or something else fishy.. Rememer tesla sales...

When did this sale for $1070?
It wasn't just the M3 air but all macs, M2, 13 inch 15 inch, M3 Max Pros, etc etc. All configs. They had 24G RAM 2 TB Macbook Air config for like less than 1500.
It was a deal specific to the Indianapolis Microcenter, but people were able to take advantage of BBY's price match policy by trial and error until they find a rep that is willing to do it, and set pickup location near that zipcode, and then later change the pickup location to where they live.
That or go pickup at that MC and get 10% off using MC CC.
Convoluted, yes, but likely the best mac deal this year. They ran the deal for new store opening to get people to go. It was 20% off all computers on top of any existing deals.

Yes, it was the BEST DEAL EVER for CURRENT generation machine for sure. The price beat even M2 deals lol!
I couldn't resist and got the 13" M3 Air that I didn't need for $1070 for my 11 year old daughter. I can always resell / trade it in when M4 comes since this is $1499 regular MSRP.
The 15" Air 16/512 was $1225 or something. I paid $1600. /cry /cry /cry. At least the 13" average down my cost when I sell them both.

Same here. Snagged a $1079 by keep refreshing website at 2 AM. Best deal ever, even the $719 M2 is cheaper than $899 Apple Edu + $150 summer back to school gift card that Apple will do in 2 months.
Only thing is I ordered two different laptops but at store they told me it's 1 maximum regardless of different config or model. So could only get 1.

Now I don' need to wait for Back to School and I get a 16GB/512GB machine that can do more taxiing stuff.
... before 8GB fanatics go crazy about 8GB blah blah, 8GB is plenty enough for normal use, I just wanted another machine to run more local LLM and 16GB will avoid slowdown as the smallest model I'd use is about 4.1GB and 8GB machine is will prevent me from mult-tasking everything else on crhome normally.
This thing is so good I can do everything I normally do with multiple crhome browsers and run stable diffusion and run LLM at the same time since they are taxing the GPU and I don't need GPU for 95% of my day to day use.
