I have one and it's actually really good at making smoothies. Performs better than my blendtec and doesn't leave frozen fruit chunks unblended. The white stains if you're not careful or using it to make sauces.

Small/bullet-type blenders have been around a while and anyone who thought they had a use for one already bought one ages ago.
I have seen this discounted at multiple Costcos in my area for months and the inventory is still untouched. It doesn't seem popular for some reason. The new Vitamix Venturist Pro that is on sale this month has been selling like hotcakes though, so it might just be perceived overlap.
I am guessing but I think it would take a $25.00 price point before these start flying off the Costco shelves.

Yes but they were hideous and the blade and cup designs are not the same. My beast blender has never leaked or blended unevenly. My magic bullet would leak and wouldn't blend as smoothly. It's also surprisingly quieter than I expected.
