That is how it has always been in the past, disconnect battery to turn off. Recent times unfortunately, has used mechanisms that need constant power like push on, push off buttons that use triacs instead of physical connect, disconnect. This and other mechanisms require constant power and introduce a vampire drain, small, but it's there. So going back to the old way of doing things is marketed as an innovation..... lol.

add; so yes, it does "work" and there is a benefit to it, but it will take you a whole battery use cycle to find out how much.

"BatteryGuard technology automatically disconnects batteries from circuit when turned off to stop battery drain", so they claim it gives up to 25% longer battery life. Wondering if this is true. Has anyone used one of the BatteryGuard flashlights?

And 325 lumen.

Pros: it's a flashlight
Cons: it's big, it's weak, it takes batteries

I think we know why it's "on sale".

I imagine these are good for power outages, because batteries are replaceable. Rechargeable ones are trash because batteries can't be replaced. These are good for emergencies, but not for regular use.

Coleman had a chance with their proprietary battery holder system that broke on me.

**non-removable battery** rechargeable lights are trash.

Actually, I was surprised at the light output. Not a bad light for $7, and comes with batteries.
