This will
only be worth it for those with an Amex offer (get 15% back on purchases up to a total of $50, expires on May 1). If you don't have that promo, then this is just a lukewarm sale.
Go to the Bose website and sign up for the promo - subscribe and save $20 off $199. I opened a new account and received a unique coupon via email in a few seconds. The terms state:
You are receiving this email because you have subscribed to Bose marketing emails. To remove yourself from our email program, please click unsubscribe above.
*Offer valid on a U.S. domestic order made directly from Bose on Bose.com and shipped within the U.S. Bose Aviation and Bose Professional (including Bose Work products) are excluded from the offer and other product exclusions may apply. Offer is valid for seven (7) days after delivery of the initial email with the offer. A coupon code can only be used one time and is required at checkout. Offer cannot be combined with other offers, applied to previous purchases, or be applied toward shipping. Not valid for cash. Offer is subject to change without notice. This offer is not applicable for orders placed through the Bose employee, partner and student purchasing program.
I also have an Amex offer on one of my cards.
The listed price (
here [bose.com]) is $249.
Minus $20 coupon received via email - FYI my sales tax was about the same amount as this coupon
Minus 15% via Amex CB offer
If you have that Amex offer the final out of pocket amount should be below or around $200.
Good hunting, lads!

Nit: "final out of pocket amount" which I assume is equivalent to "out the door price" generally is intended to include sales tax.
