This seems a good price for the lightstrip - camel shows around $180s as lows.
Edit, someone asked the exact same thing. All good.
I imagine this is true if using the play function, but if not using it I assume I might be fine? I have the same question. But may just wait it out.
You can use your pc/Mac as intermediary by using Hue Sync app on computer and mirroring tv to computer screen - less seamless and likely will involve lag unless you shell out for the sync box.
Isn't that the whole purpose of getting this?
