I started the series with Till the End of Time and had a blast!
Only downside I'd say is maybe the very noticeable early 2000s era voice acting and quality doesn't hold up quite as well. Honestly though if you go in expecting it then it's not a big deal.

Then... my husband and I played Last Hope, because it was on sale.
I had to laugh at the comment above, because it's a super polite way to say that Last Hope wasn't that good. I'll go farther and say it stinks. Never have I gone from such a high (loving First Departure/SO1) in a series to such a low (SO4 was so bad. The story was bad, the voice acting direction was bad... so many cringey anime tropes stuffed into it... just ugh).
Can't wait to play Second Story R, since I've heard it's in the same vein of First Departure. Too bad it's not on sale here! But again -- can't recommend First Departure R enough!
Are they close to a true jailbreak or are you just staying on low firmware? I always update mine and usually just try to get games on sale. So I don't really check the status too often.
